Rebecca Lenahan, LMFT #40161

From my own experience, I understand that seeking a therapist and entering therapy can be an intimidating process. I also know that therapy, with the right person, can be rewarding, positive, life affirming, and healing. My first goal is to put you at ease, offer compassion, and to create an environment of safety and trust between us. I do have a sense of humor, and try to keep some "lightness" in my work. I enjoy working with adults, and couples. I work with clients from Chico (95928, 95973, 95926), Paradise, Orland, and Oroville. Find more information at www.RebeccaLenahan.com .
I commonly work with Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Separation or Divorce, Family or Partner Relational Problems, Trauma and PTSD, Adoption, Chronic Pain, Sexual Problems, Grief and Loss (including Death of a Child), and Spiritual or Existential Issues. I work on self-esteem issues, anger management issues, and communication skills.
My theoretical treatment approaches are very eclectic. I am trained in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Early Childhood Attachment Theory (relevant for adoptions, or a difficult childhood), and Transpersonal Psychology. I have been trained in British Object Relations Theory. I have studied Gestalt Therapy and Family Systems at Esalen Institute.
